Joy Wimberly is a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) from Birmingham, Alabama, with a deep commitment to supporting veterans in their journey to recovery and healing. Drawing from her expertise in behavioral analysis, Joy played a pivotal role in developing and launching The Pink Berets' Contingency Management Program—a structured initiative designed to help veterans achieve and maintain sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Since its inception, the program has seen remarkable success, empowering veterans to reclaim their lives through positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies.
Joy is especially passionate about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Anger Management, two critical components of trauma-informed care. Her approach emphasizes mindfulness, emotional resilience, and the development of coping mechanisms that promote long-term recovery and emotional well-being.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Joy is actively involved in branding, marketing, and the development of The Pink Berets' Emergent Care Program, working closely with the CEO to ensure that veterans receive compassionate, cutting-edge care tailored to their unique needs.
Outside of work, Joy enjoys international travel, pilates, and spending time with her loyal 7-pound Chihuahua, BeBe. Known affectionately around the facility as the "Security Guard," BeBe brings smiles and comfort to residents and staff alike, proving that even the smallest companions can make the biggest difference.
Joy’s dedication to both her field and the veterans she serves embodies The Pink Berets' mission of hope, healing, and transformation.
