Clinical treatment

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

ART is a brief trauma-focused psychotherapy that uses eye movements and imagery techniques to reduce distress linked with difficult memories.

What it is

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a structured psychotherapy that incorporates eye movements, imagery, and memory reconsolidation techniques.

What it may address

ART may be used for trauma-related symptoms and other distressing memories when appropriate to the individual and clinician’s scope of practice.

What to expect

Sessions are structured and clinician-guided. The person does not need to disclose every detail of a traumatic memory for the clinician to guide the process.

How CCC uses it

CCC may use ART as one trauma-focused option within a broader individualized treatment plan.
