Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps people respond more flexibly to difficult thoughts and emotions while taking action consistent with their values.

What it is

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach focused on psychological flexibility, present-moment awareness, acceptance, values, and committed action.

What it may address

ACT may support people experiencing trauma-related distress, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, avoidance, or difficulty reconnecting with purpose and valued roles.

What to expect

Clients may learn ways to notice difficult internal experiences without being dominated by them and to reconnect behavior with personally meaningful values.

How CCC uses it

CCC may integrate ACT principles into individual, group, and reintegration work according to clinical need.
